I had this happen on two, no Mercedes cars. In both cases it was the rubber plug in the firewall had been displaced. On the drivers side. The only time the water came in the car was driving while it was raining. And it did not come in like a rain storm either. You might check the rubber grommets on the firewall. Wire harness and the A/C hoses. In both cases someone had added an aux power wire and thats a simple place to pass it through once the grommet is removed. Same would be true on Mercs.
Easy way to check is have someone shine a light down by the fuse box area and where the Ac lines are. They while you inside the car crawl under the dash and see if you can see any light. You should not see any light at all.

Jason.

I have been looking for how water is getting into back floor behind
drivers seat for a few years. Here is what I have replaced so far.
1. Check air condition drain [ not plug ]
2. front window not leaking [ water is not coming from front of car]
3. Replaced drivers door seal.
4. Replaced felt strip attached to real window.
5. Checked back panel window drains in car body. [ not plug ]
6. New rear window seal. [ no water in truck ]
7. Sunroof drains not plug. [ plus all new seals in sun roof ]
8. Drivers door drains not plug.
Any other ideas??????????????
