That clicking you are hearing is likely just the vacuum control for the
seat back lock mechanism. That control simply manages the cycle of
opening of the door and the release of the seat backs locks.

I agree with Bellamy's first posting. Just pull each pin switch and test
absent the leads with a VOM meter to see if each reflects a state change
when depressed/released. Either the pin switch for your dome lights has
failed or where you say the door courtesy lamp is lighting, a broken or
bad ground on the lead to the dome on that side of the car. Perhaps at
the hinge wiring grommet???
