Alec,
so which ones did you keep (if any)? Here are the three types of exhaust systems found on 560s:-
Mine is the European version, the bottom one (complete with the dual manifolds). The final muffler on mine is a big box-like thing. (MINE WAS RUSTED THRO' - SO JUST FITTED A STRAIGHT THRO' BOX OF SIMILAR SIZE - AND THAT IS ALL THE SILENCER I HAVE)
I assume that you remove the middle mufflers, those two in a butterfly arrangement. (CORRECT) I've been thinking of removing mine. A straight through with a butterfly valve would be a good trick, so when the butterfly is closed the exhaust has to take the long way around, through the muffler.
Robert
Hi Richard,
Interesting as I did the opposite.
I removed the 2 resonators (the 2 boxes located approx.under the front seats) and used a straight thro' box at the back.
I register about 7 to 10 kph more on the race main straight since doing the change.
Surprising that it isn't very noisy either. Could drive with it like this on the street.
Sounds glorious when you put foot.
Alec D.
