Thanks very much. I contacted Mitch and he suggested that I first do 20/50 oil change. I did that and so far it hasen't smoked. I drove it to Anapolis and back along with some stop and go runs around DC. I have scheduled a visit to Mitch's shop. The earliest I could get is early June.
Thanks to all who assisted me.

Mitch Carr's in Kensington (I'm on a slow connection or I'd look it up for you, but I know it comes up on yellowpages.com). It's about 2 miles from White Flint Mall. They only do MB there and they do it well.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] smoking

Hi,
I recently purchased a 1991 560sec with 130K miles paid $3K and got
four additional new tires on some fancy rims. It started right away and
and I test drove it and also followed behind while the seller drove it.
I did not see any smoke.
However in the mornings if I warm it up for about ten minutes it
smokes quite a bit and also during stop and go driving.
My mechanic has since tuned it up and it has passed MD inspection,
but the smoking persists. He says he does not have the right tools nor
much experience with mb to do a thorough job.
I am looking for a specialist in my neck of the woods, VA, MD or DC.
I will be greatful for any suggestions or references. This car really
holds my fancy.

Kind Regards,
Baldwin
