[W126 Coupe] A different perspective

I have one more point to make on this and then I'll shut-up. These
cars were a special breed when new (which is why we like them so
much, still today.) A larger percentage than normal were purchased
as "second" cars or "specialty" cars for people who just wanted one,
but didn't need one. (Like many SLs are.) So, many more of these
than most other mid-80s through early-90s cars are still available
with low miles and in pristine condition...b/c they have been garage-
queens rather than daily drivers.

However, that is changing rapidly. As great as they are, they are
now just old cars to many of their original owners. Therefore, most
of them will be falling into less-desirable ownership within the next
few years and so we will be much, much less likely 5 years from now
to find well-preserved examples of the breed. So, we all should be
on the very active look-out for whatever is left of the low mileage
SECs as they hit the papers.

Stepping down off my soap box...

Paul
