Welcome to Coupe-Land! Sometimes mail servers will get befuddled and 
dish out extra copies of messages. This is not list-wide, as I have not 
seen them recently.

Another possibility is that you are seeing several messages that LOOK 
alike because many email users do not take the time to trim old messages 
before they reply. I have seen old message threads stacked seven-deep 
(seven layers of replies) on this list... ... ...
