[W126 Coupe] help: front centre armrest-1987 560 SEC

Dave - I just removed my armrest cover from my 1990 560SEC. You must first
pry off the large black armrest release button then separate the "seam" as
explained below. Very easy to remove. Now the hard part:

I purchased a new cover and have yet to be able to get it installed
completely. I am ready to take it to an auto upholsterer and pay them to get
it on. I have tried to pull it straight on and I have tried turning it
inside out and rolling it on to no avail. Anybody have any
suggestions/secrets for installing the armrest cover? Thanks in advance for
your help. - Terry

Yeah. Lower it, you see on the back that seam? It uses two pieces of
plastic to fit together (like the cover used on many slipcovers for
sofas or the canvas tops for jeep wranglers). A plastic blade slips into
a plastic elongated U (i.e. if you took a cross-section it would look
like a U), and since it is a tight fit, the force of being pulled on is
what holds it together.
