[W126 Coupe] Shaky Start!!

Hi Camran:

On the coupe with such low miles, why not try a can of BG-44K to see if
you can clear any build-up on the injector nozzles. The injectors and
or throttle plate may just be gunked up. One tank on BG-44K will either
clear things up or not. Could also be one or more injector seals has
got a leak but, that would give you a miss at idle once warmed up. On
the 420, I'd say it's due for injectors. I'd also check the fuel
distributor control piston seal. It's simple and you can check it visually.

Start the engine for a minute or so to get system pressure up. Turn
engine off. Then just grab a flashlight, remove the air cleaner and
fully depress and hold the air flow meter plate downward. While it's
being held down, shine the flashlight in there towards the hinge (pivot)
side and see if after a few seconds the area looks wet (shinny). If dry
you are all set. If wet, you need the $1 seal to be replaced.

Regards,

Dick
