[W126 Coupe] amazing properties of machine screws, and speaker size question

I've done 6.5 in the rear on the 86 euro sedan which should be the same
for early model SEC's. In the front I installed with some effort US 4X6
and did dremel the inside dash cut-out lip so the cut basket would fit
snug. Be careful in your brand selection as the height of the tweeter
dome can be a problem if it protrudes where it hits the plastic grill
cover. No screws to hold down the speaker just the 4 screws holding
the plastic dash cover in place on the 4X6. If you want to go for the
larger 4X6's as some of us have done, I'd check a local stereo shop
first to see that the tweeter height is not going to be an issue. Then
buy wherever the price is right.
