Man that's a bummer.  Meanwhile, the dash will hold Euro-version 4x6s.

I think the rears depend on year; my old '86 was set-up for 4x6s on  
the rear deck also, so I redid the whole thing.  Not stock.  But the  
dash is definitely 4x6; the Euro versions have less mounting metal  
but are the same speaker-wise.  I couldn't find those, so I bought  
standard Kenwood 4x6s and just away all the mounting metal except 4  
screw holes, and it worked fine.
