Hi Jas:
You can now ignore the lengthy diatribe I wrote yesterday to help you
with your lighting problem. None of the usual suspects apply. The fault
is your instrument cluster rheostat. That's the dimmer knob on the left
side of the instrument cluster.
You have three options. Wiggle and finesse the knob until lighting is
restored; replace the rheostat from a bone yard IC; direct wire the
pointer to the rheostat to have a fixed lighting level, rendering the
knob useless.
This is what I learned this evening while having the entire dash
lighting fail in my 380 SEC after hitting a bump (of which there are
many in Boston because no one knows how to pave a road here!) I wiggled
the knob and lighting was restored.
Regards,
Dick
