Hi to the Houston area Coupe owners. Speaking of summer meets, how about
Houston as discussed earlier on this site. I have contacted Memorial
Park. Memorial Park is in the center of Houston and is a beautiful park.
I was expecting a map of the picnic areas today but it was not faxed as
promised. I think it is necessary to find an area that is near a parking
lot so we can enjoy the cars and have them close by. If that is not
possible, I think we need to find a different spot. Let me know if you
disagree.

There are no pavilions at Memorial Park and if we want shade we will
need to provide a canopy of some kind other than the trees so if someone
has one that would be great. The cost is $75 to reserve a site or it's
first come first served but if someone shows up with a reservation for
the site one is on, the site must be vacated so I think it's prudent to
reserve a site and I can foot the bill and take contributions later.

Please forgive my memory but I think it was a gentleman from the Denver
area that intended to be in Houston sometime during the early part of
August. and had a friend that also has a coupe. I recall his name is
Bob. I apologize if I have this wrong

Based on his desire to attend and my schedule allowing that time frame,
can we consider or commit to Aug.11th Saturday or the 12th Sunday?
Saturday may be less crowded and folks can travel back home on Sunday if
they come from afar. Give us your opinions here please.

I will be on vacation for two weeks and not sure if I can access my e
mail from where we will be staying so talk among yourselves. Willard
Treadway had offered to assist in coordination so perhaps Willard can
offer assistance in my absence for any questions you might have.

Willard, since I did not receive the map of the park today and we have a
7:00 AM flight could you call 713-845-1000 and see if they can fax you a
map with picnic sites? If anyone needs to call me my cell is
832-216-6678.

Thanks, Doug
