[W126 Coupe] FUEL PUMP QUESTION

HI, I have one fuel pump the closest to rear of car that is making all kinds of noise and shaking and the car under normal acceleration runs fine, but when you floor it the car hesitates and kind of bucks and makes a sound like a carb running out of gas. Like a daaaw sound and when you let off on the pedal to normal it runs fine again. Also starts right up. Could this pump sound like the problem?
