Everyone:
Like many of you, I frequent several MBenz websites including this one,
which are specific to certain models that I own. One of those is the 107026 site
on the Mercedes Benz Club of America Forums web page.
This week we received word on that site that Scott Saenger of Denton, Texas
had passed away in late June. Ironically, the initial word came from Germany.
Like many on this site, Scott was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and
ever helpful on issues large, small, and diverse. His passing has created a
huge hole in immediately available practical, historical, and research
knowledge about the 026 vehicles. Even the Classic Center consulted with him when they
were stumped. The common words for those of us active on that site when
describing Scott are: unconditionally helpful, rabidly enthusiastic about the 026
vehicles (he owned 6 as well as a couple of vintage Ford Mustangs),
extremely kind and so on, words that also describe many who are active on this site.
My reason for this post is that we may tend to take our daily communications
and exchanges on this site for granted. They become part of what we do every
day…check the email, see what’s going on, respond to questions, and post
queries. So, all of this said, let’s not take for granted the input from the
regulars on this website who selflessly and constantly spend time helping those
of us with problems related to our vehicles. Think about the hole that would
exist if some of these people suddenly were not available. Scott was 51.
Thank you for indulging me.
