[W126 Coupe] Pellet gun attack

Dick,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I do not have the coverage that replaces glass for free (damned Esurance!) I will try to change my deductible though. I will have to bite the bullet however and get it done tomorrow or Tuesday then. I just wanted to know if I would have to give an arm and my left genital to pay for a windshield, but I see it is the rear window that will hit below the belt. As always, thanks for being the automotive equivalent of a bible you guys. I will make sure I protect my baby better when I get the windshield fixed.

I accessed the international electronics part catalog (EPC) for
Mercedes to run part numbers on a 126 sedan (one of mine) and a 126
coupe (mine) to obtain those numbers. There is just that one part
number for the coupe vs. the 3 variations for the sedans.

I carry 'comprehensive' supplemental insurance and routinely (basically
every year) replace the glass in my daily drivers at no added cost to
me. (well isn't that special???) My insurance for cars is however a
ridiculous $9,000 per year. I do not want to go further in discussions
on insurance costs as my blood pressure and Irish temper will result in
less than friendly conversation re: this state and it's pathetic efforts
to contain insurance costs by regulating premiums. BTW: I have a CLEAN
driving record. I live near Boston and I am not kidding when I say, the
State of Massachusetts does not know how to pave roads. So, more often
than not the road comes up to meet you resulting in glass failure among
other vehicle damage events. Anyway as Mike suggests perhaps you have
the needed no deductible comprehensive glass coverage.

Regards,

Dick
