[W126 Coupe] Seat Memory / Battery Disconnection

I thought I'd share this interesting (if minor) experience I had. I  
make use of the
power seat's memory function occasionally, as both my girlfriend and  
I drive the
560SEC.

I replaced the battery last Friday, and afterwards, the passenger  
seat retained its memory
settings just fine, but not the drivers' seat! I first though it had  
ceased to function
(since nothing happened when you requested either of the memory  
settings - dead)
but when storing new positions, it was fine.

This is of course no problem, but it's interesting why only one seat  
would lose
its memory?
