I'm using AMG 3 piece monoblocks 17"x8.5" ET 18 front and rear (so they can be rotated) with General Exclaim 245/45/17 WR @40psi. Other than having replaced worn suspension components, my suspension is stock. No problems with rubbing at all, though the ride is noticeably more firm than the original stock 15" set up. I also have the tramlining effect that Axel mentioned. I think it is mainly due to the lower sidewalls. As for 19"s I'd say emphatically DON'T DO IT! These cars' suspension geometry wasn't designed to handle the lack of sidewall to absorb bumps, even with different shocks and springs. Besides the expense of the rims and tires, you'll increase the wear on the suspension components.

Axel,
I totally agree on the 18” wheel. I have had 16”s and 18”s and now back to 17”.
For an everyday driver, I feel the 17’s are great.
