[W126 Coupe] high idle

 Check the fuse in the over voltage protection relay (between the firewalls, has a red japanese type fuse0 on top0 and pull out and clean the contacts. I know this is unrelated to what your mechanic did, but blown fuse or dirty contacts will cause a high idle.
