[W126 Coupe] Idle adjustment 560 SEC

Jonathan - Thanks for your prompt reply. I took the car to my mechanic this
morning. He checked it for vacuum leaks: none found. He checked all the
linkage: all OK. I am at home now so I can check the connection to the air
idle valve. Is it accessible without taking off the air breather unit?
Exactly where is it and what does it look like? - Terry

I'm going to wager that there is either a vacuum leak you are unaware of or
the connection to the air idle valve is not 100%.  There is the possibility
that during said work the idle valve or the idle relay experienced an issue,
but it is unlikely.  

There is no external idle adjustment on these cars.  Also check your
throttle linkage (all of it) for binding..esp. on the pivot for the 2ndary
butterfly/cruise control etc.
