1) use a plastic wedge (or a piece of hardwood) to pry it straight up.
If you're going to paint the car, then remove both outside mirrors as it
makes is easier to get the chrome strips out and it makes it easier
(therefore cheaper) for the painter.
2) Lots of 8mm nuts on the inside of the trunk and lid. Pull out the
upholstery in the trunk wells and the nuts for the little strips are readily
apparent.
3) If you're about to paint the car then also remove:
a. Door handles
b. Windshield washer nozzles
c. Headlights, tail lights, turn signal assemblies
d. Radio antenna
e. Front and rear bumpers (6 & 8 bolts, respectively)
f. Chrome trim by the rear side windows (same process and front
window chrome)
Later,
Mike R.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Trim removal - 1990 560 SEC
Hey guys - I need some help on removing some trim from my 1990 560 SEC:
1) Front window chrome trim outside of window at bottom of window -
front and back on both sides.
2) Trunk trim across the full length of trunk and the 2 small strips
on rear of corner of the quarter panels on both sides.
Thanks in advance for your help. - Terry
