Hi list people,
I bet none of you guys have had an encounter with a 6' kangaroo.
This week whilst driving out in the Aussie bush 6 of these mongrels decided
to cross my path.
ABS worked really well but still clouted the last one - the biggest
unfortunately!
However, I had peeled of a heap of speed prior impact which left me with a
wrinkled bonnet, shattered grille and a "retired" radiator.
I was really impressed how gentle the impact was for us inside the car - no
airbag deployment either - a good crash test with myself as the dummy..
The aluminium bonnet was great at absorbing the roo weight, but not well for
him as he had to be despatched.
She is now at the panel shop with my parts and parts number listing plus
schematics to assist the guys in the repair.
Parts maybe an issue but I am going to leave all to the shop to try to get
them all under their own control.
Insurance cover allows for all new parts at whatever, but if unavailable
they will come back to me for decision or assistance.
The front bumper did a great job, they will measure it but it seems that it
is totally ok.
The fan has probably gone to MB heaven with the radiator but that should be
easier to find.
A great chance to do the small chips and scratches on the whole car..
