Try Interstate. I use that brand in my '83 300SD, '90 420 SEL, 85 500 SEC,
and 93 300 SE.

where and what kind of batter is best for these cars 88 560 sec

_____

Just took a quick pix of mine.

Two important things to note:

First, the battery terminals should be indented so they do not stick up
above the profile of the body of the battery.
Second, the battery should take up the entire battery bay (as above) and not
be smaller. The battery that was in mine was smaller by about 10% (width)
when I got the car and if the car didn't start almost straight away the
battery was dead. This is most probably a bigger problem with the higher
compression motors, but then why invite potential problems? The correct
sized battery will last longer and so save money in the long run.

The Gold terminals never corrode and seem to have better contact than lead -
it is rumoured that gold is a better conductor than lead :)

Besides, they look pretty...
