James;
Contact Ed Ebel at Harman/Becker Automotive Systems, 201-327-3434. They are
the Becker service house for the US. He will give you the skinny on all you
ever wanted to know about Becker radios. BTW, they can do a really neat
installation of a MP3 port that can be hidden in an ash tray or the glove box
- all very stock in appearance.

Subject: [W126 Coupe] Need some help
So after searching the archives I've gathered, though some have stated
contrary, that the 86-87 radios do not need a code. If this is true, was the
Becker model #754 the stock radio in 86-87? (That question is important
because I don't know if my radio was replaced with the correct model Becker).
Basically I need to know if the model 754 needs the special tool to fix this
radio, or the proper code... and what you think the dealership will charge
either way. Thanks-
