Considering that this was in the US, I was thinking that he was going 120mph... I go 100kph every day into work.

That's right. So he should have shifted into top gear and gunned it - third should take you up to 122mph, top 155. Unless you have one of those wimpy US things. Note that the Euro 420SEC is rated at 170kw, 500SEC at 195kw. The US version of the 560 is, I think, 179kw, same as the wimpy Australian delivered version. I got mine from China (Hong Kong) which in turn imported exactly the same models as the UK did. So the high powered Euro model is among them. Though the Chinese version have never gone above 100kph - mostly crawling around in traffic. It really appreciated the opportunity to finally stretch its legs :)

You should have tried shifting into top gear. The 560SEC should be able to reach 196kph in third, 250+ in top. That's 122mph in third and 155 in top.
