I don't think he was saying a 173K mile car will get over $10K all day long. 173K, even in great shape with lots of maintenance, is a lot of miles for most people. So I think $5K-$7.5K is realistic for the car you describe (and that's just my opinion). 

If you do something on ebay, and are as meticulous with the ad/description/photos as you are with the car, you'll get somewhere in that range. 

I just sold a similar car to what you describe, with 125K miles, on ebay for $10K.

  That's a real nice way to answer a question and I don't live in DC.
  I am trying to sell my 89 560 SEC that needs nothing and it is Pearlescent Black with a Black interior with 173,000 that has been meticulously maintained by Me/Be Service and myself. It has never been in an accident the bodyand the interior are clean. I had an ad in the local New York paper and I was offered $5,000.00 for it and I just put over 2 grand into the suspension.
  That is why I want to know where Bob can get over 10 grand so I can go there too.
