[W126 Coupe] adjusting fuel dist.

Hi, While adjusting the fuel dist I had leaned it out a little for emissions test and seems also got a little gray / white smoke also. Is this a sign of being to lean ? I rickening it up a little and it passed with:
Hydro Card            0.97
carbon monoxide    7.42
Oxides of Nitrogen  0.82
and it started all the time,well richen it a tiny bit more and know it will start on 1st. try but have to put to floor on next. plus econ vac.needle is off peg 1/4 in. and engine goes between 1200 to 850 rpm as it sits there warming up. Any Ideas Welcome.
