Yup...
Dealers will usually insist on you returning your car to stock bit by bit
(by claiming the problem is with your aftermarket parts) before they will
even try to diagnose a real problem. A bad spring should be pretty obvious
though. Did they explain to you how they made that diagnosis?

First, go find a better dealer.
H&Rs are RARELY the cause of a suspension problem. Not to say they can't
make a bad spring, but it is so rare as to be surprising. That said, you
very likely have something else wrong with the front suspension -
dogbones/thrust rods, lower ball joint, upper suspension arm inboard rubber
bushings, etc.
I'd find an independent and let them take a look at it before I let that
dealer near it.
