[W126 Coupe] CAT/Resonator Question

...is there a special muffler i should get    and can you provide all of this?    dumb ? what is the purpose of a resonator?

Switching out to high flow cats/resonator and muffler.  You'll keep the sounds close to stock and improve flow drastically....or rather as much as one can hope for while still running the nightmare that is the US exhaust manifolds..
