[W126 Coupe] Air Bags

Is there a way, beside crashing the car, to test the airbag?
Can the condition be checked?
Can an airbag be replace? And, if so, who does that kind of work?
Our SEC's are all older than the 15 years limit!

Guess that means we're all overdue for replacement since the youngest coupes are now 16 yrs. old. Maybe someone on the forum will be willing to test the SRS airbags by volunteering to crash their coupe...(NOT!)

guess not, though it was a good question! My stickers date may 2000 for replacement.........
Indeed it makes me curious when they really go bad.

I believe the "official" life was extended to 15 years.
