[W126 Coupe] Tire Pressure

Henry,

    I have had the same size tire for 3 years now and we have found that
34 are to low.

I am running 40 pounds and use Les Schwab tires. At 34 the edges wear
out to quick.

My wife is driving her 1986 560 SEC from Oregon to California tomorrow
(Monday) and I want to set the tire pressure. I know there has been lots
of talk about correct pressure, but the Les Schwab people who mounted
the tires suggested 40-45 Lb. psi. When I got the car back from the
Medford Mercedes dealership last week, all 4 tires had been set to 34
LB. psi.

 

The car has 225 / 45 ZR 17 94W on the front and 235 / 45 R17 93V on the
back. What should I set the pressure at?
