[W126 Coupe] Rear anti roll bar conversion

I have a 84 500SEC Euro which doesn't have the same computer as the 560's.
I have already fitted the 560 air filter as you suggest.
Spare wheel long gone also.
I agree that the stock seats are real heavy & are on the list of "to go" items.
I find I need at least 1/4 + tank of fuel otherwise I suffer fuel surge problems.

The fuel injection computer is adjustable. Under the passenger side kickboard you'll find the computer and resistance plug. Pull it out and plug it back in with a different setting - can make it more responsive but slightly harder to start when cold (in my experience, '87 Ero 560).

I also put in iridium spark plugs which seemed to help things, though I'm not racing and willing to let my imagination justify the high price of the plugs. Of course a free flowing air filter should be toward the top of the list. The 560 has two flutes from the air filter to the front, one each side of the radiator. If the 500 has just one then you could try the 560 dual version - should bolt on without tooo much trouble :)

You can always loose some weight - the seat adjustment motors are heavy as are the window winders, lose the spare tyre, heater etc etc - could trim off a few hundred kg without too much trouble.

Hi all,

Racing the SEC I need to reduce the understeer inherent in these cars.
My 500SEC has a feeble 14mm rear anti rollbar.

Has anyone got any experience on playing with the rear anti roll bar?
What diameter should I be trying?

Thanks
Alec Divov

PS. Raced this week-end at Lichtenburg circuit which is the shortest & tightest track in the country.
Only 1 mile total length! Totally unsuitable for the bigger cars.
Never the less, with the new Bilstein lowered suspension, the car was a dream and so easy to drive.
Won both races but was disqualified in the first for breaking my handicap time.
The car was extremely competitive in the tight stuff but want more power!!
36 laps & front tyres are history!! Backs still OK.
Any tips on were I can find more power on a limited budget.
1.. Thinking of raising compression.
2.. Bigger valves??
3.. Gas flowing heads
4.. Free flow exhaust.
Any recommendations / experience appreciated. (this is a Euro motor without all the emission control crapola.)
