[W126 Coupe] Air intake mods

Yes, I took an exhaust duct for a house heating system and a flex hose
(4 inch), modified the duct with a set of tin-snips and painted the hole
thing with black plastic spray and it works GREAT!  Total investment is
under $10.  It might not look like a MB part, but when I am driving it
and laughing due to increased power, I just don't care.  :)

 Has anybody made any type of modification to the intake ducts in a
stock
vehicle?
 I know that a modification in this area needs to address both intake
and
exhaust in order to improve engine breathing but the intake ducts
right
behind the grille are quite small. Maybe too restrictive.
