[W126 Coupe] 560 frustrations

FYI

A few weeks ago I posted a problem with my '88 560SEL. The engine would run
for ten minutes and then simply quit. It would not re-start until,
obviously, the engine cooled down, about two hours.

The engine was not overheating, the fuel system worked fine, the ignition
module was fine, the coil was fine.

The problem was the pick-up sensor on the flywheel... it lost contact when
it heated up. Obviously the ignition module assumed the engine was not
turning any more and shut the ignition system down. As an added kicker just
to confuse you, it appears that the ignition tells the fuel pump relay that
the engine is not turning and, in turn, shuts that down too. So when trying
to restart, you neither have a spark nor fuel.

Just thought I'd pass that along in case anyone else ever experiences a
similar problem.
