[W126 Coupe] Creaky new front shocks problem

Hey all,

I got some new Bilstein HD shocks oh probably a couple months ago now.  They
installed fine, no issues, no turning of the piston or anything.  A few
weeks later, when you bounce the front end or go over a bump, there's an
awfully loud creaking noise coming from the front.  I haven't done any other
work to the front end.....  do you think the shocks are bad or what would it
be?  I still have yet to take a wheel off and look around in there.
