[W126 Coupe] when talking about wheels what is meant by ET

ET stands for Einpresstiefe and means Offset.

The ET value determines the sideways placement of the wheel, i.e. closer to
the inner or outer fender. A hight value means the wheel is going to sit
deeper in the wheel well, closer to the center of the car, a low value means
the wheel is going to be closer to the fender.

W126 cars have a standard ET of 25 for the 7x15 wheels.

To decide if the ET value is correct, one must also know the width and size
of the rim, but generally the w126 cars use rims with ET between 11 and 25.
