Do you have the original AMG stereo system?  Where they modified the layout 
of the center console and moved the climate control to the bottom?

In that case I think you should consider repairing or restoring it.

It would take a lot of work to return your center console to the standard 
layout and the AMG stereo is a classic and should go well with the rest of 
your car.

If it is improved sound you want, try upgrading the speakers and see if you 
can connect a CD player in the trunk.
