[W126 Coupe] Gear Selection Labels: Do they light up?

Paul -
Mine is an 85 gray market 500 SEC. Would it still be near the console as
you suggest or do you think it is where Dick has stated (behind the climate
control unit). Before I go digging i'd like to make the right choice first.
Also, please let me know what you think of the light switch. Should that
light up as well?
