I wouldn't mix shocks...  They most likely assumed you wouldn't be able to
tell the difference.  It's a far more common occurrence then one would
think.

Having two different damping rates (compression and rebound are both
different from C to HD) means you'll have two different frequencies of
oscillation on your car..it won't inspire confidence when being pushed I can
promise you that.
