Now that I think about it I might have leaned it out right before it
started running hot. I always liked running it a little rich before, but
my girlfriend complained about the gas smell, so I leaned it out a little
by turning the CO. If I remember correctly that same week I first saw my
temp go to 110 plus. That was way back in July so it was hot out, then I
kind of stopped driving the car and drove my sel around now started to dry
the sec again for a little bit before I put it in storage.
Other things that I did to it this year was put a new camshaft because my
oiler tube got clogged over one of the lobes and did not lubricate the cam
and caused it to get wrecked. Put in DDR bi-xenon lamps that work amazing.
I can see paint reflecting off road signs during the day. At night when
driving on a country road I can see what color the incoming cars are. Also
got my euro headlight switch working where I can adjust the height of
lights from inside of the cabin.
What I will do next is make the car run richer and see if that will make it
run cooler. Take apart my thermostat housing and see if I installed the
thermostat correctly. I assume that I did, because after draining my block
I unscrewed the temperature sensor while filling the expansion tank with
coolant and air hissed out from the senor hole. The hose at the radiator
outlet is slightly hotter than body temperature don't know if that is
normal at 50 deg F ambient temperature.
The clutch fan does work correctly it moves a lot of air through the
radiator. I do not know if the electric fan works, never saw it on before
but it does spin freely. The car just rolled 70000 miles on it as of now it
has 70044 miles on it. The pump has never been replaced. It is
all-original with a full AMG kit. Only performance mods that it had is the
exhaust and 3.07 rear end, H&R springs with bilsteins HD shocks. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated
