Hi Pavel:
The only caveat in installing the thermostat is to be sure the small
weep hole in the thermostat outer flange is at the highest point on the
engine. This allows any trapped air to escape out the upper radiator
hose or if you have the tap on plug with crush washer on top of the
tstat housing you can bleed air from there as well under cool conditions.
I doubt that the orientation of the weep hole is the cause of your
problem. You did say that the visco fan clutch had been renewed and was
working properly, right? The visco is supposed to be engaged fully to
provide better cooling at low rpms and only break away after reaching
some prescribed rpm value. Did this proble just pop-up or did it start
after some engine work had been performed?
