[W126 Coupe] Re: temperature sensor

I  had a leak into the passenger heat well of my car from a build up of leaves blocking the drain at the right side of my hood.  Since then the heat seems somewhat batty and I wonder if the temp sensor (control  unit) under the passenger footwell somehow got wet and is mal-sensoring?.  I've seem it referenced in previous posts but don't know exactly where it is or what it looks like. (I understand it interfaces with the AC control unit and the temperature sensor that is in the overheaqd light.
