[W126 Coupe] Rust at rear window

I got a price in Australia of $250 for the glass rubber and $4000 if the glass breaks getting it out. They could not quote for the rust repair until the glass was out so I don't drive my car in the rain!

  Hi everyone, I have an SEC with what appears to be a common problem with rust starting to appear under the bottom centre of the rear glass window.It is flaking off and falling into the trunk. I think I have read before that it originates from leakage of water into the rear passenger windows and travels right around to the back.I would like to know how to fix this problem before it gets worse as rust in this area sounds very expensive.I have some mechanical aptitude and should be able to tackle this alone with advice of how to and what is needed.Thanks in advance!.......Barry from Downunda (Australia)
