Two excellent suggestions.
I like the de-badged look also but I have paint flaws in the badge area.
The badge hides these. To leave the badge off would make for a big
restoration job of the trunk lid.

Is the 3M cement available locally to consumers? I would assume so. Maybe
local auto parts or hardware stores?
