[W126 Coupe] Painting my rims...need help

I'm going to clear corner lights because i have to. At school 2 months ago a girl hit my parked car which she crashed my fender and broke my right corner light. After court(last week) i finally got my money ($800) so i going to get my fender repaired and a new organge corner light till i saw a a clear smoked one driving by me one day on a SEL and it looked great. When it comes to my cousin f'n it up, my dad took it to the shop and appertly something got lose when he was quickly shifting, so whatever they did, they fixed it the next day and everything seems ok so far, it doesnt jerk.  Now the rims, Its something i want to try out with a spare rim that is scrached up badly. If the color to match the rims looks nice on it i might do it to all the rims but if not i'm going to paint it back to the orginal color, no harm done. And i love my SEC but if i didnt have it i would have got a Saab 9-5 1998 or up
