Way to go Vance!  Your persistence paid off.  And the rest of the group 
NOW knows that this pesky bug could happen to them.  I've added it to my 
list of known electrical gremlins.  By the way you started this 
adventure back on February 4 or so.  At least in corresponding with this 
list intermittently, that is to say 6 amps on and 6 amps off since 
then.   I am happy to say that your work and the photo were worth the 
efforts you put forth.

Thank you for the report back on how you identified and solved the problem.

Not only that but as can be seen in the photo, one of the resisters is badly burned. From looking at others in circuit that are in tact, it looks like this should be at least 1k Ohm possibly higher.
