Question for British speakersBonnet = Hood
Boot = Trunk
Best regards,
Michal Wolosiak
I must say that in Australia, at least, the bonnet is still in front whether the motor is in the front or the back.
We also say petrol (short for petroleum) instead of gas (short for gasoline) though we use the term 'gas' for liquefied gas. But the more universal term that is gaining ascendancy, and which I personally prefer, is 'fuel'.
We also call a stick-shift a 'manual gearbox', as opposed to automatic transmission.
And we metricated 30 years ago, changed to 'dollars' in 1966, invaded the place in 1788 etc.
Robert
