Subject: [W126 Coupe] Question for British speakers

I saw someone using a british (not english.at least not american english) term this way and I was wondering if it's correct. They referring to the trunklid of a Porsche (i.e. the thing in the front of the car) as the bonnet. Is the bonnet always the door in front or is it always the engine cover?

  Richard
