Well, here's hoping you are still on this list in 4 years. I've got the
money to do it (I've got about 19k saved up so far, which would be to
cover the mechanicals of putting in a 500 euro with 12psi and methanol
water injection - you think I would need to fire ring the headgasket to
handle 12psi? - a repaint and some new leather/front seat springs...not
sureif 19k would cover the entire restoration, but of course I'll have
more money in 4 years), just not allowed to while still in school...and
since the parents pay my tuition, well....

Not at all..  My machinist in NY had made quite a few full on Euro
motors.  He just finished re-building a 6.0L 32V 124 hammer engine.  For
what he does day in a day out building a 560 Euro motor is ordinary.
Ideally what I would do is get a set of repair size 2 Euro pistons and
build an engine up off of that..minor increase in cc's, but if your
starting from scratch why not make the most of what's afforded you?
