[W126 Coupe] Carpeted dead pedal?

Wow...to me it sounds really stupid to put carpet on a dead pedal. The
one I found is in an 84 SD, and my 85 SE doesn't have the carpet...I
guess I have to keep looking.

In the 83 SEC the dead pedal is indeed fully carpeted. In the sedans
the side is carpeted and the dead pedal area is painted the car interior
and is plastic. I replaced all carpeting in my SEC and the dead pedal
was a tough piece to restore with the cuts, tight bends and adhesion
issues on that one piece.
It may be that latter model year coupes did not have the carpet but, I
assure you the early years did.
