The window defroster is also controlled by the combination relay. This is in the fuse box next door to the longest relay in there (the second longest also). On the Euro 560, there is a 30Amp fuse (Fuse #3) but on the Euro version this is inside the main fuse box but still is a metal strip screwed in at both ends. This fuse feeds the window element directly and doubt if even this fuse was o/c if it would be the cause for the light on the switch not staying on. I can't say for certain, but if the light on the switch is coming on when you press it, but not staying on, I think it is more likely to be fuse #2 which feeds the combination relay (which is not latching). A very easy test for fuse #2 and / or the combination relay would be to switch on your hazard warning lights. If these don't work then the problem will be either fuse#2 or the combination relay itself.
Regards,
Vance

The window defroster doesn't stick. What's supposed to happen is you push the button, it returns to center but that symbol on it lights up to let you know it's on. If it's doesn't light, then the fuse is probably blown. It's has it's own special fuse (it's a piece of metal, 20amp IIRC) that's in a small rectangular plastic box on the driver's side (in the US) fender.
As far as to get the switched out, yes the wood does have to come out, which in an SE involes taking out the ashtray insert, undoing the two screws that makes visible, pulling out the ashtray, taking out the radio (held in by those two metal spring tabs on on each end) and then the wood pulls down and out. The switches are into the wood, and you push them out from the backside.

Hi guys,
Can anyone walk me through the process of taking my antennae switch off and cleaning it? I have a feeling that my antennae problem is from my switch because my rear window defroster doesnt stick either. Does anyone know why ? Do i have to remove the wooden panel ? if so how do i go about it.
